BEFORE STARTING THE BRIDGE RAIL CRANE CHECK THE FOLLOWING
1. PPE: Steel capped safety footwear and high visibility clothing or vest is worn YesNo
2. SIGNS & TAGS: No maintenance signs, out of service tags, danger tags are displayed. YesNo
3. ISOLATION: The crane has not been isolated and locked off at the main isolator YesNo
4. MAINTENANCE CREW: No crane maintenance crew is present YesNo
5. REPORTED DEFECTS: Check logbook for any reported defects or occurrences YesNo
6. WLL: Working Load Limit is displayed YesNo
7. ELECTRICAL: No exposed electrical conductors (isolate machine if any are present) YesNo
8. LEAKS: Warehouse floor has no signs of leaks from the crane, especially where the crane is normally parked. Look for hydraulic leaks and gear box leaks. YesNo
9. STRUCTURE: No obvious damage to crane or structure is visible YesNo
10. FESTOON CABLE: Secure and undamaged. The Festoon Cable is the looped electrical cable that runs along the track to the motor YesNo
11. COLLECTOR WIRES: Undamaged and no irregularities YesNo
12. CRANE TRAVE PATH: Clear of obstructions YesNo
13. EMERGENCY STOP BUTTON: Raised above all others (i.e., not locked down) YesNo
14. PENDANT CONTROLS (with mainline power off): Check operation and that labelling is in place and not faded/damaged YesNo
15. PENDANT: Free of damage YesNo
16. SHACKLE & CRANE HOOK: Check for visual signs of damage or wear YesNo
17. CLAMP: Check clamp for the following

24. HOIST WIRE ROPE: Check for damage, kinks, is on the drum and correctly reeved on the sheave YesNo

26. LONG TRAVEL: Check operation in both fast and slow speed YesNo
27. BRAKES: Check in all directions YesNo
28. LISTEN: Check for any noises which are strange or vary from normal YesNo
List damage/faults detected below (do not use bridge crane until repaired) – tie an Out of Service Tag to the pendant control of the bridge crane in accordance with CDKNat OHS 003 Out of Service Tag, remove the key and hand it over to the branch manager. Also switch the power for the crane off at the main isolator, lock it off using a padlock and tag it out using an Out of Service Tag. Hand the key for the padlock over to the branch manager:
