CDK Stone First Day Site OHS/WHS Induction Checklist
This checklist is to be used by line management/supervisor to carry out an initial work health and safety/occupational health and safety induction of a new staff member ON THEIR FIRST DAY. The manager/supervisor shall instruct the employee in the following and tick off each item as the instruction is given prior to releasing the employee to work. Except where noted, instruction must be given in all items regardless e.g., a crane may not be installed at the work location, but the employee may visit a CDK Stone site or customer site where a crane is used.

WAREHOUSE HAZARDS
Instruction must be given in all items regardless e.g.; a crane may not be installed at the work location, but the employee may visit a CDK Stone site or a customer site where a crane is used. The employee must be made aware of the hazards and precautions to take.

Crystalline Silica Risk Management
Beware of the hazards of inhaling stone dust and the risk of silicosis.Avoid contact with stone dust by holding client meetings in a clean room or outside if this is possibleDo not enter a stonemason’s factory that performs dry cutting, even if they use ontool extraction or local exhaust ventilation (LEV). It is CDK Stone policy that staff are not exposed to dry cutting of any kind. Only enter a dry cutting workplace after dry cutting has ceased and the area has been decontaminated by washing down or vacuuming with a Hrated vacuum cleaner. Remove yourself from the workplace if dry cutting recommences.When inside a stonemason’s factory wear a respirator for personal protection (CleanSpace with P3 filter is preferred)Issue cartridge respirator with P2 filterIssue CleanSpace with P3 filterRegister the staff member with CDK Stone HR & Travel Coordinator to organise health checks for silica exposure and audiometric (hearing) test NoiseBeware of noise and risk of hearing loss (if conversation at 1m apart is difficult overexposure is possible).
